I was a senior marketer, focused on strategy, performance, and customer growth. But a couple years ago, I saw where things were heading. AI was real and accelerating fast.
I realized that marketing, sales, and service were all about to change. So I made a shift. I chose to reorient around AI first—then bring marketing back into the picture with a new perspective.
That decision wasn’t about chasing hype. It was about staying relevant and being useful in a new kind of economy. Because in an AI-driven job market, the most valuable people won’t just be the best at their current role. They’ll be the ones who learn fast, adapt well, and understand how to work with AI, not compete against it.
This doesn’t mean everyone needs to become a prompt engineer, but it does mean we should all be asking:
* How do I integrate AI into my day-to-day work?
* What parts of my role will evolve -- and what won’t?
* How can I stay valuable as the tools get smarter?
The future of work won’t be defined by AI alone. It’ll be defined by how people choose to work with it. How are you preparing?
